A brief history

Louis was born in Gosford, NSW in 1983.

He lives with his lovely wife Sarah and son Dashiell at Mitcham, South Australia.

 

Qualifications

Louis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Multimedia) from UniSA, and likes to draw. He has been working as an illustrator since 2006.

He specialises in character illustration, using a huge scope of media, ranging from traditional methods (ink and paint) to digital (Photoshop and a Wacom tablet).

Influences

Both of Louis' grandfathers were artists, Andre Decrevel enjoyed painting birds and doing calligraphy, and Perce Colyer specialised in the Australian landscape.

Louis has been influenced by artists and illustrators such as Sergio Aragones, Alastair Graham, Howard Pyle, Alan Lee, John Howe, Stephen Cartwright, Quentin Blake, James Gurney and Angus McBride to name a few.
